Welcome to Spoony Stories ❤️🥄There's nothing better than getting to know the wonderful people on Spoony, it fills us with such joy to see the kindness and generosity of our community! We love talking with some of these brilliant people and learning more about their experiences with neurodivergence, chronic illness and disability.
This week, we chat with Cassandra from Canada! Thanks for sharing your story! ❤️
Are you neurodivergent, chronically ill, and/or disabled?
Neurodivergent, chronically ill and disabled.
What health conditions do you have?
ADHD, vertigo, a brain injury and a cognitive disorder.
How do you explain your health conditions to other people?
I’m honest about it. If they ask for a story, then l’ll tell them one.
What impact do your health conditions have on your daily life?
I find it hard to follow conversations and understand certain things when people talk to me. Sometimes it's hard for me to shower because I get dizzy. I also can't walk very well because of my broken leg and chronic back pain.
What barriers have you experienced in making friends and connecting with people?
I don't really have any friends because I always feel judged by people.
What's been your experience on Spoony so far?
I want to spend more time on Spoony, it feels safe and non-judgemental. I haven't been on there as much as I would like.
Each week, we share stories from the incredible Spoony community in our newsletter, podcast, and on social media. Share your story with us.
