Last updated February 2025

Spoony is committed to creating a safe and accessible social community for everyone. Below you’ll find a list of ways we are currently realising our commitment. We are always looking for ways to improve, so please don’t be afraid to share your feedback and tell us about any other access requirements you have.

Branding

Spoony’s branding was thoughtfully developed to meet the varying needs of our audience. This includes:

  1. A colour palette and application guidelines designed to meet a minimum of Level AA checkpoints of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 for any core information.
  2. A wider set, sans serif typeface for improved legibility.
  3. Clearly defined language guidelines based on recommendations from People with Disability Australia (PWDA) — Australia’s peak disability rights and advocacy organisation.
  4. Guidelines for writing alt text and captions, as per the Australian Government Style Manual.
  5. Calming gradients to reduce over-stimulation.
  6. Photography guidelines to ensure diversity and inclusion in our images

We regularly audit our product designs with registered accessibility consultants like EasySurf and are always looking for ways to improve. If you have suggestions on new accessibility features you’d like to see, or feedback on our existing ones we’d love to hear from you. You can reach us at feedback@spoony.app.

IN PERSON EVENTS

Despite being a digital product, we host real world events from time-to-time. When we do, our events are held in spaces that are wheelchair accessible. They must also have accessible bathrooms, quiet spaces, adequate seating and of course an exceptional ✨ vibe ✨.
