About us

Spoony is a safe space designed especially for your neurospicy, chronically ill, disabled, uniquely wonderful self.

We're on a mission.

We believe creating meaningful connections should be as natural as the rise and fall of the sun.

That’s why we're making it safe and simple for neurodivergent, chronically ill, and disabled people to build soul-nourishing friendships.

Welcome to Spoony – a place to be your authentic self, make friends, and connect with people who understand you.

A note from Nick.

“My life changed overnight when I became chronically ill and disabled. For years, I was bedridden, unable to work or socialise. That’s when I realised just how vital friendship and belonging are to our health and well-being—and the idea for Spoony was born.

So if you’ve found yourself feeling the same way, know this: you’re not alone. And Spoony’s got thousands of like-minded folk ready to meet you."

- Nick
Founder & CEO

Nothing for you, without you.

There ain’t no experience like lived experience. That’s why Spoony is built for spoonies, by spoonies.

Not only is our team made up of people who are neurodivergent, disabled and chronically ill, but we regularly consult with our community about new product features, accessibility and more. If you’d like to be involved, consider joining our Spoony Squad.

Our people

Ironically, it takes a community to build one. Spoony simply wouldn’t exist without the support of these good eggs.
