You're too young for that
For aching bones and hands that tremble
Too young to use a cane
or walker
or wheelchair
We test for that after 65
The symptoms do seem similar
I'd almost think you had it
But clearly you're too young
That medication might be helpful
But we can't prescribe it to you
You're too young to be on it for life
Come back when you're 45
We don't operate on someone so young
Sure you probably have this condition
But have this pill instead
We'll see you in 10 years
You want financial aid?
Why, clearly you should be working
You're in pain? Can't drive? Can't walk?
You're far too young for all that
"Volunteer drivers for 65+"
"Free testing over 45"
"Young woman dies of rare condition,
symptoms went unnoticed"
You're too young to be here
And yet
Here I sit
(I'd stand, but I would probably faint)
